Adoption Opportunities

This issue’s featured shelter: Etobicoke Humane Society

The Etobicoke Humane Society was originally formed as the Etobicoke Animal Welfare Association in 1987, and then became an independent affiliate of the Ontario SPCA on June 16, 1993 and renamed Etobicoke Humane Society. EHS is run wholly by volunteers and operates solely through their free services, fundraising efforts and donations from the general public.

The Etobicoke Humane Society is committed to rescuing injured, abused and abandoned animals. They couldn't do it without the help of the public and their selfless volunteers.

The cat adoption centre is currently overwhelmed with a large number of cats waiting for their forever home. Here are just a few of the wonderful felines that are are currently available for adoption at the Etobicoke Humane Society…

Brian came to shelter with his roommate Missy. He loves affection - as you can see in his photo he was even loving up to his cage as his pic was being taken. Brian can be adopted on his own, but of course if we could find a home for both him and Missy it would be a great day for us at the shelter. Brian is vaccinated, neutered and ready for adoption!

Capri is a young male cat that has spent much too much of his life either neglected or in a cage. He was abandoned and left to fend for himself, but was rescued by our cruelty officers. He hates his cage at the shelter, despite how many treats or toys we give him. He just needs his own castle where can be the King! In the meantime we’re giving as much time to roam as we can and hoping that his feline version of a Fairy Godmother will come to his rescue. He’s neutered, vaccinated, and waiting for you.

Amanda is on Round 2 at the shelter. She was adopted to a family that sadly could not handle life with a cat - although all of us at EHS couldn’t imagine life WITHOUT a cat in it! So we’re on the hunt for her lifelong partner. She’s a striking young female with the perfect balance of cuddle and play. Amanda doesn’t like to share the spotlight though...no other cats for her, she wants you all to herself! Amanda is vaccinated and spayed and has her bags packed and waiting for a new PERMANENT home.

Blanche is a lap cat! If you’re looking for a buddy to curl up and watch movies with - she’s your girl! She loves to play up for the camera and even more loves attention. Blanche needs to go to a home with no other animals though - she doesn’t enjoy sharing the spotlight! Blanche is vaccinated and spayed and more than ready for adoption.

For further adoption information or to see other cats up for adoption, please contact the shelter at (416) 249-6100 or visit their website at www.etobicokehumanesociety.com.
